LCM Generalate

Following the General Chapter 2005, we thank our past leadership team: Sisters Mark Cornelius, Judith Barwick, Tess de Dassel and Anita MacDonald for their generous hearted service. We likewise welcome our new leadership team: Sister Jeannette Connell - Superior General - and her Councillors, Sisters Carol Pacini, Patricia Mary Bell and Teresa Corby. We pray that the Spirit lead you in all your comings and goings through your term of office.

The Little Company of Mary is a religious institute of women dedicated to caring for the suffering, the sick and the dying.

Women of many nations, we called by the Spirit to incarnate the tender compassion of God for humanity and our mission takes us to the heart of human hurt and loneliness throughout the world. Our model of faith and service is Mary, the mother of Jesus. Following her example, we seek to bring Christ to the world.

Founded in England in 1877 by Mary Potter, our communities are now found throughout the world and each province, region and community reflects the cultural diversity of which it is a part. In all our undertakings, we seek to reach out to the poor and marginalized, the sick and the dying.

Our vision statements direct us to the reality that we - as vowed women within the Catholic church - are to see and act through the lens of justice, and to make visible the truth that all women and men are to share the fruits of God's graciousness in Jesus. This is the heritage given us by God through the charism of the institute and the founder, Venerable Mary Potter.
